  • Mental health is closely linked to your overall health. Nutrition and nutrient absorption influence emotional and physical well-being. This is why I find nutritional psychiatry so incredibly important and try to incorporate everything I study and learn into what I do.

  • Emerging evidence indicates that nutrition plays a significant role in brain function and emotional regulation.

    If you would like improved focus and attention, a more stable mood, and experience calmer days, let’s talk about what you are eating.

  • It is difficult to know where to start, so begin by making an appointment with me and we’ll review what foods that you tend to eat the most and prefer. Labs may be necessary to look for deficiencies but I will help you identify what can be improved.

  • Yes, absolutely. I know that unfortunately, many medications used to improve mood can then contribute to weight gain. I will do a thorough review of your health history, habits, and medications, to see what changes are needed. There are some medications that I can prescribe to help the process. I do not prescribe GLP-1 medications and can explain my experience with them at our appointment.

  • While it is better to meet your nutritional needs through foods you eat, there are times when supplements are appropriate. I’ll review with you what your diet may be lacking and make recommendations.

    Many people feel like exclusion of certain foods would be punishing. Having a mindset of reward instead, where you ‘treat’ yourself to incredible health and fresh, vibrant fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, whole grains, beans, legumes, with spices, and herbs is a fun adventure.

    I can work with any diet and respect all preferences, acting as a guide.

    After working as a Physician Associate for over 20 years, I have found the more ways a person tries to improve their overall health, the less medications they will need to take. For me, diet is a great approach and I love sharing knowledge about nutrition.
